Where do I get my inspiration?
I am passionate about inspiring 'nature spaces' in homes worldwide. The idea of encouraging others to reconnect with that part of self which often takes second place to work or family - inspires me to look everywhere for material to use in my paintings - the visual, the sounds, the scents of life and nature...beauty in flowers, rustling grass, water flowing, birdsong...it's where freedom, balance and well-being co-exist. My paintings can help you feel that sense of oneness...

Why do I paint abstracts?
I love to paint abstracts because I like the freedom of expressing the mood or sensation of what is happening at the time. I use a type of visual language that can evoke an emotional response. In some artworks, I look for new ways to describe the essence of nature in a semi-representational way. My paintings often feature imagined landscapes with flowers.

When do I find time to create?
I have always been creative - since I was a tiny girl with ambitions of 'painting the world'. I was persuaded by well-meaning parents to study anything but art. Now my own family is grown up, I am fulfilling my dream of working as a full-time artist.

A bit more about me...
I'm an artist living in the beautiful South of England. I create energetic light-infused paintings with pops of colour and lots of layers, bringing nature's essence indoors.
After a former career in the food retail sector and raising my family, I set up a greeting card business supplying cards for all occasions direct to retail. I sold the business after 10 years but still design cards for online companies, mainly in the USA.
I continued to express ideas commercially in various forms - and began 'learning to paint' progressing on to abstract art which I find both relaxing and fascinating.
As well as painting, I enjoy growing organic vegetables and herbs, making homemade soup all year round… as long as the rabbits, wood-pigeons and slugs will leave something for me to harvest!
I believe the very essence of nature, whether we're outside or simply looking at a painting, can give us a feeling of freedom, balance and well-being.
